Hello there! I’m Kate Bishop, owner of Hawkeye Bookkeeping, LLC. I am located near Colorado Springs, CO with my husband, our three sons, three dogs, and three cats. I work virtually so if you are based anywhere in the US, we can easily work together. I love organizing, analyzing, and crunching numbers! I also enjoy helping friends, family, and clients create budgets and plans to get out of debt.
I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs. Some of my earliest memories are of the motel that my grandparents owned and operated near Chicago. I still have the books that my grandpa kept, starting back in the 1950’s. My parents owned several side businesses throughout the years, including real estate – both rental properties and construction of new homes. Those businesses were my first exposure to business and marketing. I loved learning about real estate investing and mortgages from my dad (who was also a licensed real estate broker and bank president) and I worked at a title company in various roles for a few years. My family also owned and operated a family daycare for almost 10 years. I helped with setting up the business, some of the accounting (including payroll), as well as daily operations. From 2006 to 2017, I owned and operated a web design/development and graphic design business. I’ve worked on many different types of sites and helped many business owners with their marketing. From small hobby sites and blogs to a large corporate site with an international presence, and everything in between!
I started my bookkeeping business in 2018 and I also work for Intuit part time cleaning up books as a QuickBooks Live Expert. I have worked with a variety of clients including but not limited to:
